The Challenge Machine

The Challenge Machine is a social site for students to take, create and share "challenges" (online mini-quizzes) on topics ranging from animals and pop stars to mathematics. Students aged from 9 to 14 have used the site to challenge each other, experience and question issues to do with online safety, in a safe environment and reflect on their own learning by the construction of quizzes. Originally conceived by Worcestershire LEA as a means to deliver internet literacy and safety training, it has evolved into a way for students to learn about internet literacy and online safety by doing.
